Mar 18, 2017- The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to move the Supreme Court against the Election Commission (EC)’s decision to remove ‘constitutional monarchy’ and ‘Hindu state’ from party’s statute.
An emergency meeting of the party held on Saturday morning made the decision to this effect, RPP leader Rajaram Shrestha said.
The party said that the EC’s decision to remove some sections of its charter was unconstitutional as the constitution had ensured ideological freedom.
The party has also decided to submit a memorandum in all district election offices across the country on March 20 and pile pressure on the government for the reinstatement of Hindu nation from the first week of April.
Similarly, the meeting has decided to register an amendment motion in the Parliament for the scrap of secularism and restoration of the Hindu nation in the constitution.
The EC on Friday had decided to remove some sections from the RPP statute claiming that the portions contradicted constitutional provisions of republican order and secularism. RSS
