Nightlife and entertainments in Kathmandu Nepal

Thamel is the tourist centre of Nepal. It is the most popular nightlife area in Kathmandu. There are hundreds of restaurants, bars, clubs and dance bars. Most of the bars, restaurants, and pubs close before midnight. But, some clubs and bars are opening till late.
More than 70% of the regular customers of pubs, bars and clubs are Nepalese. You can find many younger locals hanging around these establishments. Please avoid making any unnecessary arguments with them.

Dance bars are the perfect place to empty your pockets. These dance bars always provide pole-dancing performances by sexy girls wearing least possible. You will be at the risk of being arrested by the police. We strongly advise don’t go to dance bars.
Taxis and rickshaws are easily available during the night.We advise you to bargain on the price before entering the taxi. Please carry and use Nepalese currency to pay.
Prostitution is illegal in Nepal, but it is one the fastest growing local businesses. Drugs are also illegal in Nepal, but can be bought easily in Thamel. Please be careful before buying or engaging in such transactions.
Buying marijuana in Nepal is illegal. However, there will be a lot of locals will try to sell you the marijuana to when you are in the bars, pubs and discotheques in Kathmandu Nepal. Beware! Don’t get yourself into trouble by having drugs.
Tips: Most of the bars, pubs and discotheques in Nepal will operate from 11am to 10pm during weekdays. During the weekends, the operation hour is from 11am to 12pm. Saturday is the official off day in Nepal. Sunday is the working day. Friday is the most happening day of the week.
